The last 28 days has been a whirlwind. Brian got rolling with getting apartment leased. Picking a property manager was the first big hurdle. Next the professional photo shoot - looked so good would have rented the place ourselves ha ha! Thanks Frank, when it comes to property photography you definitely rule!
Eva finished her 12 months of work to help with the sailing kitty with more than a little sadness. Really, really enjoyed the work and many lovely friendships made. Who would have thought a 1 week assignment would become 2 and then 6 weeks and then a permanent position. Necessary to focus on the big plan though and finishing up at the end of August instead of end of September was a wise decision. Literally: "Job done"- Tick!
Week 1 of Eva's "retirement" spent getting all the accounts up to date and off to the accountant. Job done- Tick! Trip to the Financial Planner too - How to fund this mad plan, Wills, Powers of Attorney etc. all reviewed. Job done - Tick!
A small reward claimed with a weekend at Rotto with the book club gals. Rottnest Island at its sparkling and turquoise best. This has been a 17 or 18 year annual pilgrimage with the same group. What will happen in 2014, might we be back in Perth for a spell?
Week 2, 3 and 4 of "retirement" just shocking in so many ways. Boxes, packing, cleaning. Getting onto this boat and kicking off on this adventure is a bit like trying to dodge a giant vacuum cleaner nozzle that's trying to suck us back to the shore. Tonight is night #1 as occupants of Zofia and not just her visitors. Still much to finalise but you know what? I think we can can call it - 98% packed up & living aboard. Job done -Tick!
