Sausage Roll - Table of Fame

For those of you that do not carry an Australian passport, a sausage roll is just what it says. It is a roll of pastry covering sausage meat. This tasty delight comes in various forms; short, long, thick and thin. They are sometimes served with salad or sauces of various kinds or even in hygienically sealed plastic bags. These are not the Sausage Rolls I am talking about. No, the sausage roll, the only real sausage roll, comes in a simple paper bag. It is eaten with your hands, not on a plate with a knife and fork, and is not served with camouflaging sauces. It is naked in its purest form. Uncomplicated and not pretentious. It is eaten hot, as hot as you can stand, and can be eaten sitting down, while fending off jealous sea gulls, or on the run while walking to your next exciting discovery.

Sausage Rolls served by "Captain Jack Sparrow"

During out travels I have taken it upon my self to do a bit of a survey of these tasty little morsels and time has come to produce my first Sausage Roll - Table of Fame.  Although I am yet to purchase a sausage roll that was inedible,  some are better than others and some are simply fantastic. It goes without saying that my mother's sausage rolls are the best in the world, except for when the blog mistress (Eva) makes then on 'Zofia', then hers are the best in the world. So all other sausage rolls are ranked in comparison to the sausage rolls created by my mother and the blog mistress.
