The Bloke here,
Lakes Entrance was Victoria's last chance to shine, unfortunately they did not come through with any outstanding offerings. That said the sausage roll from the Paynesville Bakery has come in at number thirteen. It was a simple offering with good pastry but an ordinary filling. At just $3.50, however, it represented great value and is by far the cheapest sausage roll in the top fifteen.
The only other sausage roll that was worth considering was from the coffee shop at Lakes Entrance. This Mosul had real potential, however, because it was not produced on site it lacked flavour and was a little dry. Coming in at number sixteen was not a bad effort.
So there you have it, the LIDO LARDER was the best Victoria could offer but at number nine on the table of fame they can still be pleased with their efforts. Tasmania will be hard to beat and the taste of the Jackman and McRoss sausage rolls still lingers in my thoughts. Enough to make the bloke turn the boat around and head south. Not yet, Not yet, there are the potentials of New South Wales lying ahead of us and who knows what culinary delight await. So it will be north for us and onto new adventures and more sausage rolls.
