Changing moods at Wineglass Bay

Arriving as we did at Wineglass Bay in the dead of night, always meant that we'd be in for a big surprise at dawn. To begin with we had very conservatively anchored bang in the middle of the bay and were getting a fare bit of surge. Wobble, wobble. Relocating to a better position took a couple of goes as we sampled this position and that, eventually conceding that the nice tucked away area that we were favouring would ultimately have us standing on our keel as the tide ran out. So back to the wobble, wobble.

 Dawn - Day 1 - conclusion - It's a peach.

Azure water and white sandy beach.
Certainly no problem anchoring here and it's 3m almost to the beach.

It's so good, let's improve the view and get that dinghy down.

The world arrives for lunch.
It's pretty choppy by now so the passengers might experience lunch twice.

Off they go across the bay to look at more things.
This should give some perspective of the width.

Rock your boat and away you go.

Campers and bush walkers came and went in all weathers.

 Quite a peak.

The clouds began to indicate something brewing.

The fishermen thought so too and anchored up next to us.

We watched and waited.

Even the gulls got a bit touchy.

After a night of blowing hard (25-30knots and gusting to 40), the rain came down!

Just happy to get here.
This guy appeared overnight and dropped anchor like we had in the heart of the bay.

And down it poured.
So much so that the dinghy was awash again.
Just like it was in Streaky Bay. We are guessing around 100mm.

The folks at King Island bottle this stuff and sell it as 'Cloud Juice'.
It made the best tea....ever!
Relax, we had a bucket out to collect this - it's not from the dinghy!

The rock faces gushed with waterfalls.
The tour boat didn't bother visiting today!
