Finders keepers - knot so

Forensic examination of the weather is how Steve describes the attention to the weather forecasts at our passaging pow wows. Morning tea consumed, plans decided and the meeting convened aboard Zofia was declared closed. Urchin's crew jumped into their dinghy. Easy Tiger's crew stared blankly at the end of a very attractive length of blue rope that was securely fastened to our cleat. No dinghy in sight!
It's escaped again. Leanne looking very concerned

The Bloke had been cheeky when the Easy Tiger crew arrived and suggested they lengthen their dinghy painter. Short painters make it difficult for multiple dinghies to hang off the stern. Leanne nimbly attached two ropes; the painter and the extension. Job done or so it was believed.

Urchin headed off around the point to scour one sector of the bay. We were all making assessments as to wind speed, tide direction and so on. Steve grabbed our binoculars and after some minutes detected a spec on the horizon that fit the image of his dinghy.

We immediately pulled up anchor and with 3 pairs of eyes glued to that spec on the horizon we tore off to rescue that multiple escapee.

What was once lost, is now found.
Redeeming the dinghy was really a bit like a man overboard drill.

Anchor wench with the remote in hand - no shouting in the microphone.

Phew, that was a near thing! Not really - actually it was about 2 nm away. Note to self: 30 mins bowline practice on the timetable tomorrow.
