Apparently a trip to Streaky Bay for your Wedding Anniversary is
not as unusual as you might think.... Remember how the Bloke delivered
us here in time to celebrate 37 years? Last week Ian and Jill Brown -
long time hockey friends, contacted us to find out how long we would be
in Streaky Bay. They were just on the York Peninsula of South Australia
and thought that they would make a small detour for a catch up. Believe
it or not, they too arrived here in Streaky Bay on their Wedding Anniversary, and to top it
off it was also their 37th Anniversary.
Jill
phoned to announce their arrival at the Streaky Bay Caravan Park around
3:30pm and by 5:30 pm the Bloke had fetched them from the beach to toast
their grand achievement...the 37 years, not necessarily that they'd
found us, although we were mightily thrilled that they had!

We
managed to fit in another get together with Jill and Brownie aboard
Easy Tiger the next evening when David and Heather were to join our
fleet for THANK YOU drinks. Incredibly generous, David and Heather had
provided each crew with 3 KG's the day before!  WOW how spoiled have we
been? Answer = VERY!
Anyway, this photo indicates how very happy everyone was.

There
were questions asked why the Bloke had been nicknamed 'Mamma Bear'. This was a moniker used during shared interstate representative veterans hockey trips with
Brownie to Adelaide and Toowoomba some years ago. I guess what goes on tour, stays
on tour or almost anyway.
And just when you would think that two Wedding Anniversaries in less than 2 weeks is enough, Leanne and Steve
celebrated 28 years on Saturday. We joined them for their 'Happy
Anniversary' leisurely lunch at the Mocean Cafe where we had quite a
feast and blew the entertainment budget in a single session.
