Here are a few things that caught our eye in Hopetoun.....
| B1 and Maree looking for their anchor |
| Seals at dawn on.... that would be Seal Rock! |
| A weird jellyfish critter |
| Cat sandwich |
| B1 and Maree inspect the seals |
| We are now an object of interest |
| There is a war memorial in every town in Australia. This one is a little wonky maybe inspired by Pisa |
| They have road rage here too, even if it's of a slightly different sort |
| Vestige of the old town jetty from which whale oil and gold (from Ravensthorpe) was exported. There is evidence nearby of the railway track that serviced the jetty. Stone/rock ships ballast was used in the construction of the old and existing Hotel buildings. Canadian cedar was sourced from the whalers for construction too. |
| No kidding! Left a message but nobody home |
| One of the many locals taking in the spectacle |
| Mary Ann Haven Hopetoun is a lagoon, a bit like Guano Jetty, Pelsaert Group, Abrohlos | | | | | | |
| New Bistro that opened on the edge of town a couple of months ago |
Hopetoun Fair - Saturday 11th Jan 2014
Clowns on stilts, monocycles, zuzuvelas and drums. Hopey Market Day.
| Delicious local produce - picked yesterday, what a treat! |
