No bull, Red Bull... let's talk about Lake Hillier, Middle Island. It's Pink!

If you ever wanted proof of life;  you can be spotted anywhere these days. Stuff turns up in the weirdest places and this eclipses the Hopetoun photo!

You might recall the whop - whop overhead when we reached Middle Island - we referred to it in an earlier post.

Have a look at this. You'll spot 3 boats parked up in the corner. Those will be ZOFIA, URCHIN and EASY TIGER! Yup it's us.... absolutely NO BULL, RED BULL we were there too!!!!

Thank You! to EBYC sailors Mark and Del - SV Norlee, for alerting us to this footage.

And here is us looking at them!

We sensed something unusual when the helicopter was in location for some filming.

Going Down

Lower.

Team on the beach there to help. They landed on a VERY narrow beach... Very skilled.

Helicopter under the skydiver looks wrong somehow!
Chop, chop, chop.

The 'Southern Niche' with a Red Bull windsock.
Cape Arid in the background.

You don't need to sail here if you want to see this for yourself.
Esperance Island Cruises  will take you there.

We went ashore 2 days later. Let's look at that PINK lake we thought. Sadly, it was too early really and from our angle plus the angle of the sun it only looked tinged.
Not very pink... so we'll take your word for it!

Why these we wondered? A wind sock probably flew from this post. We found it very useful to guide us back to the track to the beach.. We missed it with 3 attempts. Now we know why it was really there!

Smile n' wave boys. Smile n' wave.

The Cats at anchor at Middle Island, Lake Hillier anchorage.

Plenty of blue spots to anchor in this corner. You can't see all of them until you are right over them. Excellent holding and protection from those howling easterlies!
