Surprise, surprise!

Missing out on all the action is not the Bloke's style. While daily updates of an impending birth were hardly the stuff that would hasten the Bloke's work schedule on Zofia's annual spruce-up, being dismissed as being in the realm of 'secret women's business', Hugo's arrival was a game changer. Once Zofia was 'splashed' (put back in the water) the Bloke commenced a plan most devious and abandoned the dinghy bottom that was next on his hit list. Luckily for all of us, this began with a major personal scrub-up to remove his 'blue' look and I don't just mean his lonely mood.

Co-conspirator - Roger.

...and the General

The General and my brother Roger were enlisted to coordinate people movements at the Perth end, including an airport pick-up. They both LOVE to organise. An early Wigilia had been planned to theme a family Polish Christmas style gathering for the Gorski wing of the family. This would double as opportunity for Viv, Emma and Poppy to introduce Hugo to his kin. All that was needed was an excuse for Phyllis to attend and all the major Perth protagonists would be assembled in one place. Yes, a plan most devious indeed!

The plot was a success.
They say a picture tells a 1,000 words.

And the hits kept coming. Neither Viv nor Emma knew that the Bloke had flown over for a flash visit to greet his new grandson and surprise and joy were repeated again as they each trickled in escorting first Hugo then Poppy. We only wish that Lucas, Amy, Lily and Thomas could have been there to join in too.

Most importantly though, the Bloke meets Hugo.
