Good, bad or ugly... the anchor came up at 05:00 on 6th February. The Bloke determined that there was no more looking at Synoptics to be done - so off we go.
Have we all over-thought this? Time will tell. The Bloke and I are cranky and we'd barely left the anchorage LOL! Chocolate could help... maybe?
In my imaginings of this moment I don't think I was envisioning grey sky and a lot of dampness but the teak got drenched last night with the humidity in the air. Mt Arid in the distance, was shrouded in drippy looking cloud - a molten fog. We are likely to be motoring quite a bit all day, believe it or not, but let's see what the weather gods serve up.
Yesterday the Sturgeron was sampled and tested by the 30knot headwinds encountered between Cape Arid and Middle Island. All agreed that it was effective albeit that B1 and Maree half dosed and still felt a bit drowsy. I took the recommended dose and definitely felt drowsy... But was that just lack of sleep anyway? Leanne proclaimed it a great success. Today I'm trying the good stuff as gifted by our mentors Carolyn and Andrew - SV Revision II. It claims on the tube, to be a non-sleepy preparation. I shall issue a judgement later.

Heading out at stupid o'clock. Mt Arid in the cloud. |
Hurry along now, you'll be left behind |
Past the protection of the headland... whooshka! |
I have a bad feeling about this |
Definitely didn't expect this |
In better light we could probably inspect Urchin's anodes |
Easy Tiger strides out... Come on guys... are you coming or not? |
By days end we had all 'enjoyed' a very vigorous
Inshore Race rather than the first day of our planned Bight Crossing and Zofia was re-parked on her 'blue spot' awaiting the return of the Cats.
The Bloke will update you later with the race standings and details of markers that needed to be rounded etc. The disputes/race committee will confer on this at the next meeting which is likely to convene at Streaky Bay Hotel in due course.
