Dangerous Goods

Robe had been earmarked by the Bloke as the place he'd extend his boating skills to include Yanmar Motor Maintenance. We already had spare oil and fuel filters, belts and impellers. We purchased replacement oil of the appropriate viscosity etc plus lots of paper towels and such, for the inevitable mop up. All that was needed was fanatical manual reading, courage, multiple YouTube video viewings and an oil extractor pump to effect the oil change. Carefully researched, the latter was purchased on eBay and we just needed to wait for it to arrive from the US. In the interim, the filters were successfully changed, impeller and belts checked - my Bloke is a star!

Checking the belt.
Dave, our best ever Diesel Mechanic in Mandurah was also sent this photo for confirmation.

After waiting, waiting, waiting we eventually emailed the eBay seller to ask for an update on a delivery. The parcel tracking link was not working. We learned that eBay would not ship the item to us as they considered it 'dangerous goods'. It's actually a plastic container with a pump mechanism and a hose. It's empty until you fill it. Let's just say it's like a bicycle pump on steroids except that is sucks up oil rather than pushing air .....  No point arguing in these twitchy times. Too dangerous to ship evidently.

The Bloke is mentally very nimble and without a reason to stay in Robe immediately switched to Plan B. There is nothing stopping us from leaving RIGHT NOW! Mind your head, here comes that cannon blast again!
