Happy hour at 'The Penny'

A few days on shore power and a few comforts in easy reach was welcomed - the warmth especially. We had thought that we'd get some laundry done too. Alas the laundromat had closed down and the the visitors centre advised that the nearest laundrobar was in Kingscote, about an hour drive by car. What do holidaymakers do I wondered, go home home when they are out of clean clothes? As luck would have it the local YHA was able to help. They had a laundry that they were prepared to let us use. It is, after all V E R Y quiet at this time of year. In our research we encountered 'the local'.

The Bloke agreed to just this one photo

... and was rewarded with a nice glass of Coopers Ale

We decided to take in one of the best views from Penneshaw from 'The Penny' - the Penneshaw Hotel. The outlook was gorgeous, especially on our first visit which was the night of the Super Moon

  Backstairs Passage was a millpond.
BTW that is not the super moon under the umbrella!

Perth: 2,025km!
Wow, that's as the crow flies. We are a truly long way from home.

Here is another of those pesky Erratics, sitting at the edge of the Christmas Cove Marina

Too late! I think we would have liked this 'Mike'.
His family erected a seat in his memory overlooking Christmas Cove
