Sneaking a base to Esperance dressed in frilly knickers

Well we made it just fine and a whole lot faster than we'd anticipated notwithstanding the fact that we all had minimum sails up. We were regularly seeing 7.5knots on jib alone!

Jumping on the SW bus!

By the time it was my watch at 8pm, the jib was reefed to the extent of qualifying as frilly knickers. We really wanted to have daylight by the time we reached the western islands off Esperance. As it was, we passed Figure of Eight Island with its sweeping light before dawn.

Easy Tiger gobbled up the conditions. They are roughly 1.5 knots faster than us

Smile n'waive boys, smile n' waive!

And off they go showing a clean pair of keels!

Cull Island on the approach to Esperance.
The wee white light/beacon atop this Island was visible from Figure of Eight Is.
It had us wondering for quite some time what it might be!

The Port of Esperance coming into view.
A busier port than either of Bunbury or Albany we are told!

Easy Tiger takes off to Bandy Creek - The Cat Haven

We've been lucky enough to have the use of a pen at the Esperance Bay Yacht Club. Brian Kerr has his new (to him) boat away in Albany having some work done on the keel. The cats on the other hand have had to play on their own at Bandy Creek - the Cat Haven!
